Use up to 30% less energy

Buildings that are actively monitored have significantly lower energy consumption than buildings that are just “left in peace”. Entro’s database shows startling discoveries and reveals a difference in energy consumption between well-run and less well-run buildings of around 20% for school buildings and 30% for office buildings. These figures have been calculated based on logging of non-conformities etc. related to energy use in buildings that use Entro’s monitoring and compliance software Optima. The results show the importance of placing greater emphasis on good and competent operations than is the case today.

Operational optimisation

Entro reviewed E. C. Dahls Eiendom’s work with energy savings. Experience from this and other energy projects shows possible savings of around 10% on operations, 5% on light investments and 10% on heavy investments.

Roger Pettersen from Entro showed that it is a good idea to have a reference group in such work to anchor the measures that there is a desire to carry out, in addition to the fact that skills development and support of the operators of buildings is also key in order to succeed with a good, energy-efficient operation of buildings. The chain is not stronger than its weakest link here either, and commitment from the entire organisation is important.

Some common findings and examples from Entro’s work with operational optimisation were accounted for. It concerned the proper operation of heating plants, ventilation systems and incorrect adjustments, etc., of the central control and monitoring system.
